Signal buffers are used to help overcome system losses or to help mask significant loading effects in a system. The electrical signals on the system may be degraded and aliased or degraded due to losses and loading on the interconnects.
Signal buffers receive a signal at its input, buffers signals, delays it slightly, cleans it up by removing any losses caused by interconnect effects, and re-emits it in its original direction. A buffer has an input receiver and a driver or transmitter that resends a sanitized version of the received signal.
